Kanpur: A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a man involved in illegal sale of railway tickets on Monday.
Three IDs and e-tickets of several railway divisions have been recovered from the arrested person, who used to make e-tickets illegally from his internet cafe. RPF in-charge Suruchi Sharma said that following a tip-off, a team of Railway Protection Force on Monday raided Shiva Cafe located in Naubasta area of the city. The accused, identified as Prince of Naubasta, in the guise of Agent ID, used to procure and sell e-tickets by using personal user IRCTC IDs.
During interrogation, he confessed to doing illegal railway ticket business. Around 20 tickets of various divisions worth Rs 23,850 have been recovered from his possession. He was later sent to jail after being booked under section 143 of the Railways Act, said official further.
To recall, only on Sunday, the RPF of Kanpur Central had arrested a man from near the ashram of self-styled spiritual healer Santosh Singh Bhadauria alias Karauli Baba for illegal booking and sale of train tickets. Railway tickets worth Rs 1.25 lakh were recovered from him.
