Sevens football contest for IT employees

Thiruvananthapuram: The trophy unveiling, rally, and captains’ meeting of the sixth edition of the sevens football tournament organised by Prathidhwani, an IT employee welfare organisation, will be held on May 3 at 5pm in Technopark.
Kerala Sports Council president and former national level footballer U Sharaf Ali will be the chief guest of the event.
The bike rally will start from Technopark phase II and enter the main campus via phase III and will end near the Park Centre.
More than 2,000 IT employees from 93 IT companies of Technopark will participate in the inter-IT sevens football tournament that will be held from May 6 to July 19 at Technopark.
The football tournament will be held in two phases at the Technopark ground and in both phases the first-round matches will be played on a league basis and then on a knockout basis.
The winning team will receive Rs 25,000 and an ever-rolling trophy. There will be separate awards for the best player of the tournament, top scorer, and best goalkeeper.
Best player of each tournament will also receive a player of the match trophy and rewards.
