GURGAON: Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in the murder case of a 28-year-old man outside a farmhouse located in Sohna on April 12.
According to the police, the murder was a fallout of an old rivalry between the victim and the accused.
“On April 13, a group of 20 people were booked for killing a 28-year-old man in Sohna. The deceased was identified Gyanendra alias Golu and the accused were friends and are from the same village. However, they had parted ways a few months ago over some dispute,” Gurgaon police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
Boken further added that Lalit Kumar (30) along with his cousin Gyanendra had gone to the farmhouse on Sohna road on April 12, and were standing outside when around 20 armed men reached the spot in three different vehicles. They attacked Lalit and Gyanendra.
“One of the accused placed a pistol to Lalit’s head, while another attacked Gyanendra as he was the main target,” the complainant had told Sohna police.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at Sohna police station under sections 323 (causing hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), 302 (murder), 148 (rioting with deadly weapon) of the IPC and relevant sections under the Arms Act against the accused.
Police had arrested Ajay alias Ajju (25) on April 28 from Gurgaon.
“He was produced before a court which sent him to three days police remand. During his remand, we will get more details about the murder and will know the location of the rest of the accused,” Boken further added.
