RCB won the toss and opted to bat first. However, LSG suffered a huge blow in the contest after skipper KL Rahul sustained a thigh muscle injury while fielding. The incident happened during the second over of RCB innings when Faf du Plessis punched through the covers off Marcus Stoinis’ ball and Rahul sprinted to save the boundary.

Rahul was given a look by the physios but soon he was taken off the field in a stretcher.

While LSG bowlers, led by Naveen-ul-Haq restricted RCB to 126/9, the batters lacked confidence without Rahul in the XI.

Krishnappa Gowtham’s 23 was their top score by a batter as they were bundled out for 108 in 19.5 overs.

Gujarat Titans (GT) currently occupy top spot with 12 points from eight matches. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, remain at the bottom with just four points from eight matches.

GT, RR, LSG and CSK are the current top four teams but that in all likelihood can change several times over the next two weeks.
