69 illegal advertisements unipoles uprooted in Gurgaon this year

GURGAON: Acting against the illegal advertisers, MCG till date has uprooted 69 unipoles displaying illegal advertisements. The unipoles were installed along Dwarka Expressway, Southern Peripheral Road, Sohna road, among others. MCG officials said they will also register FIRs against the illegal advertisers.
“According to the Haryana Municipal Advertisement Bylaws, 2022, a permission is required from the MCG before erecting a unipole and displaying advertisements. For this, an application along with the fee has to be submitted online. MCG has the authority to get an FIR registered, impose a penalty and receive the advertising fee from the defaulters,” said MCG spokesperson SS Rohilla.
Till May 1, MCG has imposed a penalty of Rs 1.5 crore on the illegal advertisers and got FIRs registered against 21 defaulters.
