Ludhiana: Hired two months ago, a domestic help decamped with cash and jewellery from the house of a retired banker in Tagore Nagar. The help was hired by the banker for his ailing wife.
The Division No. 8 police have lodged an FIR against the accused woman, identified as Alisha. The employer had not got her police verification done.
The complainant, 72-year-old Nem Chand Jain, said he lived with his ailing wife Rita, who is retired from Punjab Agriculture University.
He had hired Alisha to take care of his wife about two months ago. His wife Rita, used to keep cash and jewellery in a box in their bedroom.
On April 27, he noticed that the box was missing. On the same day, Alisha went on leave claiming that she had to go to her hometown due to a death in family. Jail alleged that the domestic help stole the box containing cash and jewellery.
Investigating officer ASI Naveen Kumar said a case had been registered against Alisha. The victim does not have any ID proof or address proof of the accused woman.
