In the Nifty 50 index, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco, JSW Steel, ONGC and UPL were among the top gainers on the NSE.
Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, UltraTech Cem., Kotak Bank and Adani Ports SEZ were among the top losers.
