Jaipur: The Other Backward Classes (OBC) Commission on Monday assured a delegation of Mali, Kushwah, Shaqya, Morya and Saini communities that it will ask district collectors to conduct a socio-economic survey and submit a report within 10 days.
Despite this assurance, leaders of the Mali Kushwah Sangarsh Samiti were undecided when to remove the blockade from NH-21 near Bharatpur. A delegation of these communities arrived here and met the chairperson of OBC commission, Justice Bhanwru Khan, over their demand of 12% separate reservation within the 21% OBC quota.
“We have been informed that a letter would be sent to all the district collectors to conduct a socio economic and population survey of Mali, Shaqya, Kushwah and Morya communities within 10 days,” claimed Badan Singh Kushwah, convenor of the samiti.
Kushwah, however, seemed confused. “We will go back to the protesting site and discuss with protestors.”
“The blockade continues. We are not sure of future course of action,” said D K Kushwah, their media coordinator.
