Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.15% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra(up 2.82 per cent), MPhasis(up 2.29 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 2.07 per cent), Wipro(up 1.66 per cent) and Infosys(up 1.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 1.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 1.15 per cent at 28027.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.35 points at 18163.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 354.05 points at 61466.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., IDFC First Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Datamatics Glob, Welspun India, Rail Vikas Nigam, Kirloskar Elec and Ircon Intl. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lagnam Spintex, Gallantt Metal, Gangotri Text, Parin Furniture and Party Cruisers Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
