Rajkot: The Rajkot skin bank has received its first-ever skin donation. According to the Civil Hospital, Hansa Tanna (67) died of a cardiac arrest at a private hospital. Her family members decided to donate her eyes and skin. Her son Parag said, “I could not avoid the death of my mother but to help other patients, I contacted the eye bank and the skin bank.” A team of doctors harvested her eyes and skin. The skin harvested within 45 minutes of a person’s death and stored at a certain temperature can be used for those who have received severe burns.
63.80L embezzlement by co-op secy
Rajkot: The secretary of a co-operative society in Surendranagar was booked for embezzlement of Rs 63.80 lakh. According to the police complaint, Sardarsinh Parmar had allegedly embezzled Rs 63.80 lakh from Shree Danavada Service Co-operative Society of Muli taluka by misusing his position. The complaint alleged that the irregularities were committed from April 30, 2019 to March 31, 2020 by not depositing with the District Co-operative Bank the loan money recovered from society members.
