JAIPUR: The promptness with which police found a stolen hoarding that featured the birthday of chief minister
Ashok Gehlot, invited sarcasm from the leader of the opposition, Rajendra Rathore, on Monday.
“Salute to police activism! I wish such agility was there for ‘common man’ along with ‘special’”, Rathore tweeted, adding, “After child theft, goat theft, donkey theft, now hoarding theft in Rajasthan, wow what a thing. @ashokgehlot51 ji the activism of the police in recovering the hoarding of birthdays within 24 hours is commendable.”
His tweet was responded to with a tweet from the CM’s officer on special duty (OSD) Lokesh Sharma, who posted the news item: “Vasundhara government’s minister Rathore’s pet dog Charlie missing, Rajasthan police busy searching for it.” Sharma reminded: “There was a time such as this as well, Leader of the Opposition...!!”
A complaint about the theft of the hoarding was registered on Saturday. Police found that the “thief” was an employee of the hoarding company who had removed it because of not being paid his dues. Police caught the “thief” within 24 hours.
