MANGALURU: More than 2.5 lakh people are expected to take part in the election rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be held in Mulki on Wednesday, said BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Sudarshan Moodbidri.
He told reporters here on Monday that all arrangements have been made at the ground near Mulki town.
"Preparatory meetings have been held in each booth to make the Modi event successful. Since the event is scheduled to be held in a rural area, people will not be put to hardships due to traffic snarls. Further, as the venue is in the middle of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, it will be convenient for people to participate," he said and requested people to be present at the venue by 9am.
"The public meeting of the Prime Minister is slated to be held at 10am on May 3. In the wake increased security measures, people should reach the venue well in advance. While the PM will be arriving at the Mangaluru International Airport, three helipads have been kept ready at the New Mangaluru Port in Panambur, NITK-Surathkal and one near the programme venue in Mulki," he said.
A special breakfast of Kudla chusine including uppittu, avalakki, moode, neer dose and other delicacies will be served to the PM.
Modi will be leaving for Ankola soon after the Mulki programme.
