Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:01AM

20 Microns(up 1.62%), Coal India(up 1.16%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.15%), MOIL(up 0.96%), KIOCL(up 0.90%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.58%), Pokarna(up 0.46%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.37%) and Ashapura Minechem(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries(down 2.22%), Oriental Trimex(down 2.14%), Lexus Granito(down 1.18%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.14%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 93.55 points up at 18158.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 315.04 points at 61427.48 at around 11:01AM.

Tech Mahindra(up 3.99%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.02%), UPL Ltd(up 2.32%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.18%), JSW Steel(up 1.9%), Infosys(up 1.88%), NTPC(up 1.6%), Axis Bank(up 1.59%), Wipro(up 1.51%) and Eicher Motors(up 1.49%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 2.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.45%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.38%), Tata Motors(down 1.33%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.92%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.73%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.59%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.24%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.24%) were trading in the red.
