Thane: Repeat offender, two others held with Rs 9.6 lakh MD

Thane: The Thane crime branch has arrested three drug pushers and seized from them 240gm Mephedrone (MD) powder worth Rs 9.6 lakh.
The arrested accused have been identified as Amar Tusamkar, 29, Mohsin Shafique Shaikh, 34, and Nizahul Sattar Sayyed, 34, all residents of Wagle Estate, said assistant commissioner of police (crime detection-1) Nilesh Sonawane.
He added that based on information a team led by senior inspector Vikas Ghodke, laid a trap at Wagle Estate area on Saturday and nabbed the trio. Upon carrying out the body search we found 240gm MD powder worth Rs 9.6 lakh. We also seized cash, cellphones and two motorbikes worth Rs4.4lakh," said Ghodke. Shaikh is a habitual offender who was released from jail four months ago.
