Cops make security blueprint to conduct peaceful ULB polls
Kanpur: Police have prepared a blueprint regarding security for the Urban Local Body elections.
Preparations have been completed to make the ULB elections fair and peaceful, said commissioner of police BP Jogdand.
For this, Kanpur has been divided into four super zones, 33 zones and 129 sectors. Security will be done strategically from the general polling station to the sensitive polling station, he said.
“All station house officers have been directed to take prompt action against criminals, particularly against those who have been externed from the district limits in order to conduct peaceful and fair polling,” the CP said.
A total of 557 polling stations have been set up in the district in the municipal elections, in which the number of general polling stations is 205, sensitive polling stations 144, hypersensitive polling stations 152 and 56 hypersensitive plus polling stations, the CP said. “Around 107 inspectors, 1016 sub-inspectors, 4009 constables, five company PAC and one company of Paramilitary Force have been arranged to conduct a smooth and peaceful election process," he added.
