Pune city police have busted a high profile prostitution racket in which customers were lured online for having sex with girls at a five star hotel in Pune railway station area.
A press release issued today stated that acting on a tip-off to policemen Tushar Bhivarkar and Amit Jamdade of the social security cell of the Pune city police, a team headed by inspector Bharat Jadhav contacted the sex racketeers through a decoy customer.
Cops then laid a trap at the five star hotel where the sex racketeers had called the decoy customer on Monday. Cops raided the room in the hotel soon after two girls came there to meet the decoy.
During further investigation, cops nabbed three sex trade agents and two more girls from the Maharashtra Housing Society in Yerwada.
A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the three agents at the Bundgarden police station under sections of 370, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
Police said the four girls nabbed during the action were allegedly lured by the agents into sex trade. The girls were “rescued” and taken to the rehabilitation center in Mohammadwadi
