Assets worth Rs 41 lakh of 2 ganja smugglers seized in Nabarangpur

KORAPUT: Police seized illegally acquired property worth Rs 41.41 lakh from two ganja smugglers in Nabarangpur district on Saturday, after the competent authority and administrator, Kolkata, under the NDPS Act gave the order for forefeiture of their assets on Friday.
The accused were identified as Dinesh Kumar Biswas and Dinesh Bhatra, both residents of areas under Umerkote police station limits.
Nabarangpur superintendent of police S Sushree said the duo is part of a ganja smuggling network spread across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
While Biswas has been arrested, Bhatra is on the run and efforts are on to nab him, she added.
