Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting outside a bar in downtown Fort Myers

Police are investigating a Saturday night melee and shooting in downtown Fort Myers.

An altercation between two groups led to the shooting just after 10:30 p.m., said Fort Myers Police Department spokesperson Kristin Capuzzi in an emailed statement Sunday morning. She said one person was being treated for an apparent gunshot wound.

The incident happened outside The Lucky Screw bar, 1527 Hendry Street.

"This investigation is very active," Capuzzi said, noting police are working through surveillance footage and witness statements.

"We are still seeking any further witness information regarding this entire incident," she said.
