Mangaluru: AICC spokesperson Charan Singh Sapra said that BJP MLA and former Union minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal is being used as a launch pad by the BJP for their ‘gaali politics’. Sapra, referring to Yatnal’s statement of likening UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to a ‘vishkanya’ at a poll rally on Thursday, called it ego and sheer arrogance. He said that the way Yatnal denigrated and demeaned UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was deplorable.
“The BJP in Karnataka and its leaders have lost their mental and political balance. The BJP leadership is frustrated to the core and is hurling filth and muck, which is the product of their ugly character, and a dirty mindset of denigrating and insulting the Congress leadership,” Sapra said. “The BJP leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have made abusing the Nehru, Gandhi family a profession,” he said. “If the PM has even an iota of decency or dignity, he should immediately expel Yatnal from the BJP. Otherwise, it will be proved that the ugly remarks being made by Yatnal against Sonia Gandhi are at the instance of the PM and chief minister Basavaraj Bommai,” he said, demanding an apology to Sonia from both the leaders.
