Now, apply for social security pension scheme on mobile app

Jaipur: Social justice and empowerment minister Tikaram Jully inaugurated the facility to submit applications online through a mobile app for the social security pension schemes on Saturday.
“The applicants will not have to go to the e-Mitra centres or pay fees anymore,” said Jully. The applicants can now download two apps (RajSSP and Face RD app) on their mobile phones and can apply for pension through face recognition,” said social justice and empowerment secretary Samit Sharma.
The Unique Identification Authority of India will verify its identity by matching it with the biometric data of the face available in its Aadhaar database. If the person is eligible for any of the social security pension schemes, her/his application will be approved automatically without human intervention.
Jully said, in the past two months, annual verification of 82,000 social security pensioners has been done through face recognition on mobile phones.
“On one hand, the time of 13,000 officials, SDMs, tehsildars and patwaris will be saved; on the other, the system will ensure a simple and convenient way of applying for the scheme by the beneficiaries. Quality services will be made available in a transparent and uninterrupted manner. This is a historic change in the field of information technology,” the minister said.
He also said the facility of submitting applications, which was available earlier, will also continue.
