Woman, two aides strangle man, burn body in Ludhiana’s Jamalpur
LUDHIANA: A 50-year-old electrician was brutally assaulted and strangled in Ludhiana’s Jamalpur area on Friday night.
The incident came to light on Saturday morning when a half-burnt body was found in the Sahebana village.
Some onlookers informed the police and later the body was identified.
The police have booked three accused, including a woman with whom the victim was in an illicit relationship, her husband, and her nephew.
The deceased has been identified as Satwinder Singh of Bhaini Sahib village, who was married to Surjeet Kaur and has three children.
A police officer said that Satwinder was in a relationship with a woman named Ramandeep Kaur.
Satwinder and Ramandeep had taken accommodation on rent in Jamalpur colony to meet secretly.
On Friday, Ramandeep had called Satwinder at the rented accommodation to meet where she, with the help of her husband Sandeep and a relative Shivam, assaulted Satwinder with blunt weapons and then strangled him.
Thereafter the accused took his body to Sahebana village and burnt it.
According to the officer, Ramandeep was voluntarily in a relationship with Satwinder, but desired to end things due to a monetary conflict. To achieve this goal, Ramandeep, along with her husband Satwinder and nephew Shivam, conspired to eliminate Satwinder.
A murder case has been registered against the trio at Jamalpur police station.
