MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati stages dharna for Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jeypore

KORAPUT: Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati staged a dharna on Saturday protesting against the alleged apathetic attitude of the Centre in the opening of the proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) at Jeypore.
With hundreds of his supporters, the Congress MLA staged a dharna in front of the head post office in Jeypore demanding functioning of the KV from 2023-24 academic session and threatened to intensify the agitation if the demand was not fulfilled. "With over 20 central offices and all available infrastructure, Jeypore deserves a KV but the Centre is deliberately neglecting it, he said. The Congress has given a Koraput bandh call on May 9.
