19-year-old jumps to death from 4th floor

Nagpur: Sneha Verma, 19, jumped to death from the fourth floor of an under-construction building near her residence at Kadu Layout on Friday. Sources said that she was upset with her parents opposing her talking to a friend and spending too much time on the cell phone. A case of accidental death was registered at Kapil Nagar police station.

A district and additional sessions court on Saturday sentenced Sanjay Meshram, 52, to life imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000 for killing his 80-year-old mother at her residence at New Gadegaon Rehabilitation Colony in Kanhan in 2020.
