LUCKNOW: Calling threat to his life from 'industrialists', Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment by seven women wrestlers, addressed second consecutive press conference on Sunday, in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda.
Brij Bhushan Singh, who is also current BJP MP from UP's Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat, alleged that he has threat to his life from industrialists and raised questions against railway employees and SAI employees that with whose permission they were staging and taking part in the protest.
Singh further said that till now he has not received any summon from the Delhi police in connection with the cases registered against him. "I am ready to go anywhere they call me," he said.
He also urged not to pull BJP into this case, and said, "Allegations are against me it has got nothing to do with the party. If the party high command will want, I will resign/quit immediately.
"Akhilesh Yadav knows the truth. We know each other since childhood. 80% of the wrestlers in Uttar Pradesh belong to families with Samajwadi Party ideology. They call me 'Netaji'. They say how their Netaji is," said the MP when told that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav didn't go to the protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar even when several Opposition leaders did.
"Priyanka Gandhi has been mislead by Hooda. If Priyanka thinks herself a big leader then must come and contest an election from Gonda, Kaiserganj and from other place of her choice," he added.
