From pizza delivery boy to best cadet among a batch of 157 Indians and 29 from Bhutan who graduated from the Officers Training Academy in Chennai on Saturday, Lieutenant Ajay Singh Gill from Punjab’s Pathankot district received the Sword of Honour reserved for the class topper with toppings of double joy.
His twin brother Arjun Singh will be commissioned after six months from the same academy. The twins were born on Army Day (January 15) in 2001. “My father’s dream and encouragement from my mother continuously pushed and motivated me, and my brother and we worked hard. It was a dream come true when I joined OTA Chennai as part of the SSC-115 course and my brother followed as part of the SSC-116 course,” said Lt Gill after the parade.
