Truck rams into auto & car, driver dies

Silchar: A truck driver died minutes after his vehicle rammed into an autorickshaw and a car in Katakhal locality of Hailakandi district on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred when driver Nilkumar Singh hit the auto and then the car near the Katakhal rail crossing on NH6. Following the crash, Nilkumar, a resident of Ramnagar near Silchar, got down from the truck to check the car’s condition and spoke to its driver, JH Barbhuiya. Suddenly he (Nilkumar) fell down on the road and lost his consciousness. Police rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The body was sent to Hailakandi civil hospital for autopsy. The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
