Security guard sexually abuses minor, then tries to kill himself in Chennai

CHENNAI: A 52-year-old man, who was summoned for questioning in a sexual abuse case, consumed pesticide before entering the police station.
He fainted at the Tondiarpet police station on Friday night.
Police said Ramamoorthy, 52, a security guard, sexually abused a 11-year-old child. That happened when the child went to dry clothes in the the terrace of a building where he was working.
She told her aunt about this and she lodged a complaint with the police. The child's relatives went to the station and demanded that they act against the man. Police then called the guard for an inquiry. He told the police that he had taken poison and fainted at the station.
Police rushed him to the Stanley government hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Police have booked him under Pocso Act.
