Nagpur: Mrunal Vairagade from the city secured third All India Rank (AIR) in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main) results for which were declared on Saturday. He scored 300/300 with a perfect 100 percentile.
Interacting with reporters, the teenager said he used to attend coaching classes regularly from 8am to 8pm and also study at home.
“The paper pattern and time management were challenging, but I overcame with practice. I was always academically motivated by my teachers and parents who helped me whenever I felt low,” he said.
His parents Shrikant and Sandhya said that Mrunal aspires to secure AIR rank among top 50 in JEE Advanced after which he plans to study computer science from IIT-Bombay. “He studied very hard day and night. The faculty at his coaching institute also put a lot of efforts behind him,” they said.
Mrunal was a student of Allen Career Institute, from where five students achieved AIR under 500 and nine under 1,000, as per centre head Ashutosh Hisaria.
