BHU launches initiative to develop professional & social skills of students
Varanasi: The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) launched a new initiative for the students of Institute of Management Studies for developing their social and professional skills. Titled ‘Student Leadership and Life Skills Development Initiative’, it has been initially launched for a period of one year.
According to the BHU spokesperson, the vice-chancellor Prof Sudhir Kumar Jain has set up a two-member committee to organize programmes and activities under the initiative. Anindita Chakraborty of Institute of Management Studies is the coordinator of the committee while Harsh Pradhan has been named the member of the committee.
The committee will develop a strategy and conduct activities to develop soft skills, social, personal and professional skills of the students. It will engage with students to help them develop events and programs aimed at achieving their personal and professional goals. The committee has been tasked with liaising with external and internal resource persons/facilitators/mentors for conducting workshops, talks and events on various aspects of leadership, emotional intelligence and resilience among others.
