Man arrested for raping niece in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: The Thudiyalur all-woman police in Coimbatore arrested a man for raping the minor daughter of his younger brother for more than four years.
The girl, who is 15 years now, used to go to the house of her father’s elder brother at Periyanaickenpalayam. He was unmarried and worked as a supervisor in a textile mill. He raped her on several occasion for more than four years. He threatened that if she revealed the incident to anyone, he would murder his younger brother.
The girl revealed it to her mother on Friday. The mother took her daughter to Thudiyalur all-woman police who registered a case under Section 5 (l) (n) read with 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
