Shah Rukh Khan is a beloved celebrity across the country and a swathe of fans follow him everywhere, however, King Khan is especially loved by fans in Kashmir as was proven when a theatre in the valley was housefull courtesy SRK’s blockbuster film Pathaan.

On Friday evening, when SRK was returning to Mumbai from Kashmir, frenzied fans mobbed the megastar at the valley’s Srinagar Airport in a bid to click selfies and get autographs from Bollywood’s King.

A video shared by several fan pages dedicated to Shah Rukh Khan, showed fans swarming the Pathaan actor as he entered the Srinagar Airport. Khan had arrived in Kashmir earlier this week in connection with the filming of his upcoming movie Dunki, a Rajkumar Hirani directorial which also stars Taapsee Pannu and is scheduled for release this year.

Earlier, pictures of Shah Rukh Khan posing with a fan in Kashmir during filming of Dunki went viral on social media.

SRK’s box-office hit Pathaan also became a sensation in Kashmir as fans thronged the valley’s only movie theatre to watch the film.

The Pathaan fever which took over the entire country also gripped Kashmir as the SRK, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer was the reason a movie theatre in the conflict-riddled valley was sold out after nearly 32 years.

Kashmir, which plays an important role in plot of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster return movie, also brought joy and business to the valley’s only modern theatre owner INOX, who posted a picture of a “Housefull” sign displayed outside the premises after more than three decades.

According to BookMyShow, INOX: Srinagar Shivpora had six shows of Pathaan today between 2:30 PM and 6 PM and five of them displayed as either sold out, filling fast or almost full when checked at the time.

In another tweet, INOX revealed that all shows on the opening day of Pathaan’s release were sold out, with the caption Kashmir has shown “extraordinary love” to Pathaan aka Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan, who returned to the big screen after a four -year hiatus, kicked off 2023 with his record-smashing blockbuster Pathaan that rewrote the box-office records. SRK will next be seen Atlee’s Jawan along side Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.

Sonam Kapoor added yet another feather to her wings as she will be the only Indian celebrity to participate in King Charles III’s coronation concert. The concert is said to be a star-studded one with celebrities like Tom Cruise, musical group The Pussycat Dolls, Bear Grylls, dancer Oti Mabuse, and others performing.

King Charles III’s coronation is slated for May 7 at Windsor Castle, United Kingdom.

Sonam Kapoor to deliver exclusive spoken word piece at King Charles’ coronation concert

Reports said the Bollywood actor has been invited to deliver an exclusive spoken word piece at the concert. The Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort will be held on May 6 which will be followed by the concert.

Speaking about the same Sonam Kapoor said he is honoured to join the Commonwealth virtual choir for this ceremony, celebrating His Majesty’s love for music and art. Kapoor further said the momentous occasion signifies a commitment to a positive, inclusive, and optimistic future for the United Kingdom.

Tom Cruise to appear via video message at the concert

Hosted by Hugh Bonneville, the concert will have artists like Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Freya Ridings, Alexis French, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and others. Stars like Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, and Sir Tom Jones will appear through a video message, the report said.

While this will be Sonam Kapoor’s first royal appearance, Tom Cruise attended Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997. Moreover, Pooh was invited to a children’s garden party at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th anniversary in 2006.

Last year, Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger attended a pageant in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor has been hogging headlines after she made an appearance with Apple CEO Tim Cook at the Mumbai store launch. She took a break from her acting career after the birth of her son Vayu and stays with her family in London.

Adipurush is one of the most-awaited films of this year and has been the talk of the town ever since its trailer release last year in Ayoydhya.

On Sita Navmi, on Saturday, the makers dropped a new poster of Sita, played by Kriti Sanon in the mythological film.

In the poster, Sanon can be seen in an orange saree with vermillion and a bindi on her forehead. She looks fierce as tears are about to roll out of her eyes. With the poster, the makers also released a teaser for Sita’s look in Adipurush.

Helmed by Om Raut, Adipurush stars Prabhas as Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, and Sunny Singh as Laxmana. The film is inspired by the epic, Ramayana.

Adipurush was, earlier, scheduled to hit the silver screen in January 2023. However, given a massive backlash on social media over the representation of the characters resulted in its postponement. The film will now release on June 16, 2023.

Reports said the film is budgeted at over Rs 550 crore which made it one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The makers promised an ultimate VFX experience in the film.

Legal action against Adipurush

Before its release, Adipurush has been slapped with multiple legal actions over the wrong depiction of characters. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra warned the makers to remove scenes that present Hindu deities in an unacceptable way.

Another complaint was filed by Bombay High Court advocates against the filmmaker for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the inappropriate portrayal of the characters. The complaint was filed with the demand for an FIR under Section 295 (A), 298, 500, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, reports said.

Om Raut broke the silence on the outrage on social media and said that he was definitely disheartened but not surprised by the reactions.
