3 dead as building collapses in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi; 12 rescued, many still trapped
The incident took place at around 1.45pm in Vardhaman compound at Valpada area of Bhiwandi.
BHIWANDI: Three persons died and 12 people were rescued from the debris after a ground-plus-two-storey building collapsed in Thane's Bhiwandi on Saturday afternoon. Many people are still trapped.

Two of the deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Navnath Sawant and Laxmi Mahato.
The incident took place at around 1.45pm in Vardhaman compound at Valpada area.

Police and fire brigade teams are engaged in the operation to rescue the trapped people.
Two children were also rescued from the debris which include a two-and-half-year-old boy.
Bhiwandi building collapse

About three to four families were staying on the second and third floor of the building and the workers, who were working on the lower floor of the building, are said to be trapped.
