DHARWAD/GADAG/HAVERI/DAVANAGERE: Each vote that is cast for BJP candidates, will not just make them MLA or minister, but will strengthen Modi’s hand to become Prime Minister again in 2024, asserted Union home minister Amit Shah.
Addressing rallies in Annigeri, Shirahatti, Akki Alur and Harihar, Shah said that current election will decide the future of next 5 years for Dalits, poor, farmers and tribal people and all communities of Karnataka. “Congress had insulted farmers by opening fire and resorting to lathi charge in Navalgund in the past and did not provide fertilisers or water to farmers. Congress leaders do not have the moral right to seek votes of farmers in North Karnataka region. However, Modi has completed projects like Upper Bhadra, Mahadayi, Kalasa-Banduri and Upper Krishna. As a result of his efforts, North Karnataka farmers are now getting 4 crops in a year,” he claimed.
He also said that Modi is giving Rs 10,000 per year to 56 lakh farmers of Karnataka. “BS Yediyurappa is the first in the country to table an agriculture
budget for Karnataka. The BJP government gave minimum support price for Ragi and Jowar for the first time in the history. BJP has brought prosperity to farmers and Karnataka as well,” he added.
He said that some Congressmen have registered a police complaint against him for warning about PFI activists. “These activists used to keep bombs everywhere during Siddaramaiah’s government. But Modi put them behind bars and banned PFI. Congress is always into appeasement politics and that is why it had given reservation to Muslims though our constitution never allowed reservation on religion basis. Now Kharge has said that they will reinstate it if they come to power. One should note that Congress had insulted Ambedkar and it is Modi who honoured Babasaheb with Bharat Ratna award,” he asserted.
Reacting to Kharge’s statement allegedly terming Modi as a poisonous snake, Shah said Congress has now insulted Modi who is being welcomed by all nations of the world. Though Modi has facilitated strong infrastructure in the country, Sonia termed him ‘merchant of death; while Priyanka Gandhi termed him ‘of low caste’. “They should remember that Modi is the only prime minister of India who hailed from poor and tea vendor’s family,” he added.
Elaborating on PM Modi’s contributions to Karnataka, Shah said Modi gave water connection to 43 lakh families, 4.10 lakh houses to poor families, 48 lakh toilets, free foodgrains to 4 crore Kannadigas, Kissan Samman Nidhi to 56 lakh farmers and free LPG cylinders to 67 lakh women.
“Gareebi Hatao was just a slogan for Congress but it means work for us. When we intended to quash Article 370, opposition party warned that there will be bloodshed in Kashmir. But we connected it to the rest of India peacefully,” he mentioned.
“If Congress comes to power, it will function as an ATM for its Delhi leaders. State will witness dynasty politics, appeasement and riots” said Amit Shah in Harihar.
After the public rally, he visited Veerashaiva Panchamasali Peetha and sought blessings from Vachanananda Swamiji.
