Six from Raj reach Jaipur from Sudan
Jaipur: A group of six Rajasthani evacuees from Sudan landed here on an IndiGo flight on Friday night.
The six persons – Dashrath Singh, Onkara Singh, Habib Khan, Shabnam Khan, Uttam Singh Rathore and Dashrath Singh (two of same names) – were first transferred to Jeddah from Port of Sudan. From there they were brought to Mumbai on an IAF flight.
“The Rajasthan government was the first state to provide authentic information about the evacuees to the MEA after the naval ship transported the Indians to Jeddah, from where they were airlifted to Delhi and Mumbai,” said Rajasthan Foundation chief Dhiraj Srivastava, who also serves as the resident commissioner at Bikaner House
The evacuees were to reach Jaipur on Friday afternoon but got delayed due to cancellation of the flight owing to bad weather. This is the second set of Rajasthanis evacuated from Sudan. Earlier, 29 others had reached Delhi.
