Unseasonal rains and thunderstorms in Maharashtra's Nanded district this week left three persons dead and affected over 10,000 farmers, an official said on Friday. The revenue department on Thursday released a primary loss report after rains and thunderstorms hit the Marathwada region on April 25 and April 26, he said. According to the report, the Marathwada region, comprising Jalna, Aurangabad, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad and Beed districts, received an average rainfall of 2.4 mm on April 25 and 4.6 mm on April 26.
Chemical-laden truck overturns in Thane; one injured
One person was injured when a chemical-laden container truck overturned in Maharashtra's Thane city on Friday, a civic official said. The accident took place on Ghodbunder Road around 6.45 am, said Avinash Sawant, chief of the regional disaster management cell (RDMC). The truck, transporting 80 drums of benzyle chloride from Surat in neighbouring Gujarat, overturned causing the chemical to spill on the road, he said.

Sooraj is currently out on bail in the case. The CBI had alleged that the letter seized by the Mumbai police, which probed the case initially, was written by Jiah Khan.
What IPC section 306 says:
If any person commits suicide, whoever abets the commission of such suicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
If convicted, Sooraj, the son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, may face a jail term of up to 10 years.
Jiah suicide case: Jiah's mother Rabia Khan alleged that her daughter was murdered. In October 2013, Rabia moved Bombay High Court seeking a CBI probe in the case while alleging that her daughter had been murdered.
Sooraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was allegedly in a relationship with Jiah.

A 50-year-old man, who works as a company secretary in Thane city of Maharashtra, has lost nearly Rs 11 lakh after a cyber fraudster tricked him by offering a part-time online job, police said on Friday. Covid intranasal vaxx for elders to start in Mumbai from today
The BMC will start administering the intranasal vaccine against Covid-19 from Friday at selected centres across the 24 wards. The free vaccine doses will only be available to senior citizens who want to take precautionary shots, the BMC announced on Thursday.The civic officials issued a list of centres where Bharat Biotech’s intranasal vaccine iNCOVACC will be available and said it can also be accessed on social media. Each of the 24 wards will have one centre administering the vaccine. The registration will be on the spot and the vaccination centres will remain operational between 9am and 3pm. The intranasal vaccine is needleless, and one vial is administered to two individuals.
