PATNA: Another increase in Covid positivity rate was witnessed on Thursday with 179 more people testing positive for the virus against 47,939 samples tested.
Patna alone accounted for 99 new cases.
As per the data shared by the health department, the positivity rate in the state stood at 0.373% on Thursday. On April 20, 139 Covid-19 cases were registered against 52,510 samples tested and the positivity rate was 0.25%.
Apart from Patna, which recorded the highest single-day cases, West Champaran reported 11 new cases, Madhubani (9), Bhagalpur (9), Khagaria (7), Madhepura (6), Begusarai (6), Purnia (6), Vaishali (4), Muzaffarpur (4), Gaya (4), Sheohar (3), Gopalganj (3) and Nalanda (2). Other districts registered one case each.
At AIIMS-Patna, results of 16 samples came positive for Covid out of 172 samples tested. Of the positive patients, four were from Paliganj and three from Dulhin Bazar. Also, three new patients were admitted to AIIMS-P on Thursday and one was discharged. The hospital had 17 Covid-19 positive patients on Thursday.
