5 contractual power employees suffer burns while repairing transformer

Kanpur: Five contractual employees of the Power department suffered burns due to a transformer blast in the Kohna area of the city on Wednesday night. The employees were repairing a transformer at Ganga Barrage under Kohna police station area of the city, when the blast took place. Electric workers suffered burns due to hot oil from the transformer which spilled on them in the blast. Two employees have been admitted to a private nursing home while three contractual workers were sent home after first aid. tnn
