    Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Friday's session

    NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 463.06 points up at 61112.44 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

    On the BSE, Axita Cotton(down 19.99 per cent), Nanavati Ventures Ltd.(down 14.74 per cent), MMTC(down 11.25 per cent), Shree Precoated(down 10.89 per cent) and Evoq Remedies Ltd.(down 10.70 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

    The index closed 149.95 points up at 18065.0.

    On the BSE, MMTC, Compuage Infocom, Premier Synth, Hanman Fit and First Custodian hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Jigar Cables, Choksi Imaging, Bajaj Steel, Lloyds Metals and Ashirwad Cap touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
