Asus has announced the launch date of its upcoming ROG Ally, the company's first PC gaming handheld that runs on Windows 11 and a custom AMD chipset. The company took to Twitter where revealed the launch timeline of the gaming handheld device. Asus has scheduled the launch event on May 11, starting 10 AM ET (7:30 IST). The company has also teased the device on its website, with details of a keynote event featuring executives from Asus, Microsoft's Xbox, and AMD.
Asus ROG Ally: Likely price While Asus is yet to reveal the pricing and specifications of the ROG Ally, in a recent development, the price of Asus ROG Ally was leaked in a report by The Verge, spotted by the tipster Khumail Thakur. It is anticipated that the Asus ROG Ally would cost around $699.99 (approximately Rs 57,200).
Asus ROG Ally: Expected features In another report, the alleged specification of the Asus ROG Ally was leaked by tipster SnoopyTech. The handheld gaming is said to feature a 7-inch full HD screen. The display is likely to support a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by an AMD Z1 Extreme processor with AMD Radeon Navi3 graphics, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
Alongside the purported pricing and specifications, the tipster also shared the renders of the Asus ROG Ally.
In addition to this, the tipster also said that the Asus ROG Ally will let gamers "play almost any game" that runs on Windows, Steam, GOG, Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, Android, and other platforms.
It is tipped to feature AMD's recently announced Ryzen Z1 series processors, designed for handheld PC gaming.
