Ludhiana: His love for 'dahi' in prison

In 1975, when Emergency was imposed, SAD leaders were arrested and lodged in jail for months.
"Badal Sahab and I were lodged in Barrack 10 of Ludhiana jail, which was located in the Old City of Ludhiana.
In the jail, Badal Sahab used to motivate everyone to keep up the spirit," said Akali leader Hira Singh Gabaria. "We used to play badminton in the jail almost every day.
Another thing I remember is that Badal Sahab was fond of curd and needed it every morning. He asked us to arrange someone who could send curd to jail every morning.
Then, we found a man named Kulwinder, who used to bring us curd. Badal Sahab had named Kulwinder 'dahi' (curd) and used it to ask if 'Dahi' (Kulwinder) had come today," recalled Gabaria.
