Residents set up task force for civic and safety checks
Noida: Residents of Sector 3, Greater Noida West, will set up a task force of 40 volunteers—10 from each of four blocks—to check and monitor security and civic issues in the sector.
Residents have been complaining about workers living in the sector without any verification, encroachments, lack of sanitation and horticulture issues for a long time, but nothing has changed on the ground.
“We held a meeting to discuss the various issues; concerns were raised over security and safety, especially since many workers live in the sector—there’s no verification, nor are they monitored by house owners or the Authority. Also, roads and green areas have been encroached,” said D-block resident Jaiprakash Singh Yadav.
On the other hand, resident Neelam Yadav said some roads have broken in places and need resurfacing.
“While the RWA is responsible for the overall upkeep and security of the sector, the task force will act as a support group,” said Yadav.
A final meeting is slated on next Sunday to formalise the task force.
When contacted, GNIDA officials assured they would address issues related to parks and green belts.
