Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.07% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:01AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

IDFCBANK(up 0.68 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.67 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.52 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 0.24 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

State Bank of India(down 0.59 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.58 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.15 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.11 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.07 per cent at 42798.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19.05 points at 17832.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 73.57 points at 60374.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, NHPC and City Union Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GE T&D India, Barak Valley, Ircon Intl., Bharat Wire Ropes and Raymond hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, Jakharia Fabric, BEML Land Assets, Kirloskar Pneumatic and Avalon Technologies hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
