NASHIK: The civic body has announced no water supply across the city on Saturday.
A Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) official said that the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) will carry out pre-monsoon works at its power substations on April 29 due to which power supply will not be available to pump water.
33 KV HT power supply has been taken from two feeders (power supply lines) -- 132 KV Satpur and Mahindra -- which power the pumping station of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) at Gangapur Dam.
Raw water pumped from the pumping station is supplied to Bara Bangla, Shivajinagar, Panchavati, Nilgiri Bagh, Gandhinagar and Nashik Road water treatment centres of the corporation.
At the same time, 33 KV power supply is provided by the MSEDCL’s Raymond feeder at Gonde to the raw water pumping station of the NMC for jackwell at the Mukne dam.
The MSEDCL has decided to undertake repair and maintenance of the feeder on Saturday as a result of which the raw water required will not be pumped from the pumping station.
The water supply department of the NMC has appealed to the citizens to take note of this and cooperate with it.
The release further added that the water supply will be restored on April 30, but it will be supplied at low pressure in the morning.
