Panaji: Congress in Goa has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to share his thoughts on Karnataka’s efforts to divert water from the Mhadei river basin during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.
The party’s local media chief, Amarnath Panjikar, said Goa is counting on Modi to provide clarity on the interstate water sharing dispute. Panjikar said that Modi should announce during the programme that water from the Mhadei basin will not be diverted.
“BJP leaders from Goa boast that the PM applauded schemes and programmes of the state government through Mann Ki Baat. Now, these leaders should tell him to show some guts and speak about the Mhadei diversion and show his love towards a small state like Goa,” Panjikar said.
