Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.19% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:45AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

L&T Technology(up 4.93 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 2.04 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.0 per cent), Coforge(up 0.93 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Consultancy(down 0.6 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.14 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.19 per cent at 27117.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 17.7 points at 17831.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 69.37 points at 60369.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., Rail Vikas Nigam, Vodafone Idea, NHPC and City Union Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Barak Valley, GE T&D India, Ircon Intl., MOS Utility and W S Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while BEML Land Assets, Brightcom Group, Jakharia Fabric, Avalon Technologies and Aavas Financiers hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
