Delhi reports 7 fresh deaths; 1,040 Covid cases in 24 hours

NEW DELHI: Delhi on Wednesday reported fresh 1,040 cases of Covid and seven deaths, which is the highest this year so far.
According to the daily state bulletin issued by the health department, the new cases came out of 4,915 samples. The positivity rate stood at 21.16%, it said.
In three of the seven fatalities, Covid was not the primary reason of death while the finding of infection was incidental in two. The complete case sheets of the other two deaths are awaited, the department said. The hospital admission rate has also come down to 3.82%. Currently, 305 beds are occupied of 7,977 beds available for Covid patients.
The addition of the fresh cases on Wednesday takes the national capital's overall Covid tally to 20,36,196 while the death toll has reached 26,613. The number of active cases in the national capital stands at 4,708.
