Delhi man kidnaps 7-year-old nephew to force mother-in-law to return money
After kidnapping him, the accused called his mother-in-law and threatened to return the money if she wants her grandson back.

Delhi Police on Thursday arrested the man for kidnapping his seven-year-old nephew from Burari in order to force his mother-in-law to return the money she borrowed from him. The police rescued the accused from the Ambala Railway Station.
Reports state that the accused’s mother-in-law had borrowed him Rs 2 lakh two years ago and has not returned the money despite several reminders. The 45-year-old, who works as a mason, then planned to kidnap his nephew in order to blackmail his mother-in-law for the money.
After kidnapping him, the accused called his mother-in-law and threatened to return the money if she wants her grandson back.
The police official said the boy’s family filed a missing complaint on Wednesday at around 9 pm when he didn’t return from the tuition classes till late evening. The police registered a kidnapping complaint after his parents enquired about him at his tuition centre when they got to know that he had left for home with his friends in the evening only.

The police then looked into the CCTV footage around the tuition centre and saw a man with his face covered with a muffler. The officer said he was identified by his wife, who called him on his phone but he told her he was with his friends.
The police then traced his location and found him in Ambala. His father was sent to the traced location along with a four-member police team. When the police team reached Ambala railway station, the boy spotted his father and raised an alarm.
The accused was immediately arrested by the Delhi Police. During the interrogation, the accused informed police that he had picked up his nephew from his tuition centre and told him that his maasi has met with an accident and that they needed to go to the hospital to visit her. The police said they boarded a bus from the GT Karnal bypass and disembarked at the Ambala railway station.

A viral video of animal cruelty is doing rounds on the internet wherein two men brutally beat up a pitbull dog with a stick in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The video was shared by an NGO Nirbhaya Foundation on Instagram.
In the video, the accused men can be seen with sticks as the dog lies in the pool of blood. The man then approaches the woman, who is said to be the dog’s owner and beats her up. The incident took place on Monday.

Reports said the accused men have been identified as Noman and Imran who lost their cool after the dog barked at his daughter. The dog was rushed to the House of Stray Animals Dispensary.
The dog, Moti, belongs to Devendra and the video was shot by his sister-in-law.
Moti sustained multiple fractures in the jaw and the surgery was performed by the best orthodontist. Reports further said metal plates have been installed to support the broken jaws and the dog will remain in the Critical Care unit for 1.5 months.
Police case filed against accused persons
After the video circulated on social media, concerned citizens reported the incident to the Ghaziabad Police who further took the two accused into custody. A case has also been registered in Loni Border police station and legal proceedings are underway.
A video was also released by ACP Loni on Twitter who informed about the action being taken against the accused persons. ACP Loni informed 3 people have been arrested in connection with the case.

Jharkhand BJP leader found hanging from tree, family alleges murder
Singh’s body has been sent for post-mortem to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, Medininagar.

The body of a BJP leader was found hanging from a tree in the Palamu district of Jharkhand on Thursday. His body was found on the Semri-Manatu main road under the limits of Manatu Police Station in Medininagar.
Reports state that the 35-year-old Pramod Singh, a resident of Karmatila, was the President of BJP’s Schedule Caste cell. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Lesligun) Alok Kumar Tuti said Singh left his home at around 5 pm on Wednesday and was found in an isolated place.
Singh’s body has been sent for post-mortem to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, Medininagar.
Locals then gathered in the area, put up a blockade, and demanded the arrest of the culprits. The family members of Singh alleged that he was murdered over a land dispute and hanged to give it the shape of suicide.

Reportedly, Singh told his sister that he will be back home in 20 minutes as he was going to collect money from a person but did not return. Because of this, Singh’s family members also accused Kamlesh Kumar, the Officer-in-charge of Manatu Police Station, of failing to take action after they came to report Singh’s missing last night.
They said Singh’s life could have been saved if the police acted in time.
The SDPO said that they are investigating the case from all possible aspects. We can only say whether it was a case of suicide or murder only after receiving a post-mortem report, he added.
Last month, a 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in front of MGM medical college on the BRTS corridor in the Sanyogitaganj area. The deceased worked as a labourer and was in the city to find work. He hanged himself from his shirt.

A Delhi University ad-hoc teacher allegedly died by suicide after recently losing his job at the Hindu College, reports said on Thursday.

A Delhi University ad-hoc teacher allegedly died by suicide after recently losing his job at the Hindu College, reports said on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as 33-year-old Samarveer, was found dead in his room in Delhi’s Rani Bagh area—hanging by the neck from a ceiling fan.
An official said the deceased, originally a resident of Molki village in Baran district of Rajasthan, was found dead in a room he shared with his cousin who was at work at the time.
He said that the police didn’t find a suicide but Samarveer’s cousin told the cops that the deceased was heavily depressed since being fired from his ad-hoc lecturer job at the Hindu College.
A report said that Hindu College Anju Srivastava was called for her comments but did not respond to calls and texts.
A senior police official said they received information on Wednesday about a man committing suicide by hanging.

Deputy Comissioner of Police (Outer) Harendra Singh said a mobile crime team of the outer district was called in and forcibly opened the door of the deceased’ room which was latched shut from inside.
The officer said the deceased was found hanging from the ceiling fan using a bedsheet and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The senior officer said that forensics and the crime team did not find any evidence of foul play and prima facie it appears to be case of suicide.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party’s teachers’ wing Academic for Action and Development Delhi Teachers’ Association (AADTA) has called a protest in North Campus to protest the teacher’s death.
A friend of the deceased who is a professor at the Hindu college said he talked to Samarveer on Sunday and he sounded very upset and depressed after being removed from his post at the college.
According to his friend, Samarveer had turned down a guest lecturer’s job at the college earlier because he accepted an ad-hoc job in the Hindu College.
However, after 20 odd days, the college had informed him that his services cannot be continued as its not allowed by the University.
