Dealership service activity in the U.S. grew nearly 16 percent in March compared with February but was down 4.3 percent compared with March 2022 when service and parts business was booming, according to the latest Cox Automotive analysis of Xtime metrics. Xtime provides software that helps auto dealers facilitate more than 10 million service appointments monthly.
Service counter: March repair orders and revenue
Repair orders grew in March compared with February but were down when compared with the same time a year ago.
Xtime's Repair Order Revenue Index for March was down 0.5 percent from February and up 5.6 percent compared with March 2022. The average revenue generated per repair order decreased by only $3 off the record high reached in February.
