Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:04AM

Future Consumer(up 4.76%), Hindustan Foods(up 1.70%), Dodla Dairy(up 1.67%), Zydus Wellness(up 1.60%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.38%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.86%), Nakoda Group(up 0.72%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.60%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.57%) and Nestle India(up 0.52%) were among the top gainers.

Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.15%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.62%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.61%), Umang Dairies(down 0.59%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.55%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.51%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.44%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.23%), ADF Foods(down 0.11%) and Marico(down 0.08%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 27.55 points up at 17841.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 107.53 points at 60408.11 at around 10:04AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 2.69%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.04%), SBI Life(up 1.85%), UPL Ltd(up 1.29%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.22%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.1%), ITC(up 0.76%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.58%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.58%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.55%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.58%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.87%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.67%), Grasim Industries(down 0.67%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.62%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.56%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.54%), Wipro(down 0.37%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.27%) and Cipla(down 0.26%) were trading in the red.
