AMARAVATI:
Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s chopper developed a technical snag at Narpala village of Ananthapuram district on Wednesday. The pilot noticed the problem in the fuel supply channel and made an attempt to repair it.
The problem was reported soon after chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reached the helipad after completing the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena programme at around 1pm. Chief minister waited for over 30 minutes at the helipad as the chopper crew continued repair works.
Sources said that the pilots could not set the system right even after repeated attempts and requested the CMO officials to make alternative arrangements for CM’s travel.
Following the advice of the senior police officials, the CM travelled by road from Narpala village to Puttaparthi airport. The chief minister reached Puttaparthi airport at 3.30pm and took the chartered flight to reach Gannavaram airport.
Meanwhile, the release of intermediate results was also delayed by an hour as education minister Botcha Satyanarayana, who accompanied chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Narpala, could not return to Vijayawada on time due to the technical snag in CM’s chopper.
He had also travelled by road and took the special flight along with the chief minister.
Recently, the chief minister had rescheduled his visit to New Delhi from Gannavaram following a technical snag in the special flight.
Subsequently, the intelligence wing started probe into the incident as the technical glitch was noticed after the special flight taking off from the airport in Gannavaram.
Nearly after 30 minutes travel, the pilot returned the flight back to Gannavaram Airport.
